- Goal: We will hold our annual workshop “Actinide Chemistry and its Applications” in February this year as shown below. There will be active discussions on actinide chemistry in the fields of experimental and theoretical chemistry, nuclear medicine, nuclear fuel reprocessing, MA separation, debris science, etc.
We look forward to your active participation.
- Date and time: Wednesday, February 10, 2021, 10:00 – 20:00
- Lectures by overseas researchers are scheduled after 17:55.
- Location: Online via Zoom
- Because of the declaration of a state of emergency over the COVID-19, the meeting is held completely online via Zoom. We will send the information on how to connect to participants at a later date.
- Program
- Oral Lectures
- Each presentation will be 20 minutes long (15 minutes for presentation + 5 minutes for Q&A).
- Please prepare your slides in English.
- Breakout Session
- Goal: ….. We would like to allocate a Room in Zoom and plan to make it a place where free and vigorous discussion is possible. Especially, we wish that you are a young researcher use this session as a place to discuss your research paper. Let us discuss with us over a cup of coffee casually.
- Way: ….. We will use the breakout room function of Zoom. Each presenter and the chairperson will enter a room to discuss. In each room, presenters will be asked to share their slides on the screen and give a talk. In order to stimulate discussion, two chairpersons (assigned audience, one for the first half and one for the second half) will be assigned in advance for each presentation. Audience members are requested to enter the room of the presentation they are interested in to listen and discuss.
- Presentation format: …… Please prepare slides in English and give presentations in Japanese. Posters are not acceptable. The time limit is 15 minutes for the talk and Q&A session. Questions are welcome during the presentation.
- Request for Chairpersons: …… Please encourage the speakers to start their presentations immediately at the start of the first half. Please do the same for the second half.
- Abstract: …… Any format is acceptable, but please include the title, authors’ names, and affiliations. The format is one page in pdf format. The submitted abstracts will be made available to all participants just before the meeting date. We will inform you how to submit the abstract soon.

- Presenter’s Manual:
- When the start time arrives, presenters should enter the breakout room marked with their name.
- The presentation time is 60 minutes. During this time, presenters are expected to stay in their breakout rooms and give their presentations.
- The chairperson will be in charge of the presentation, but you are welcome to communicate with the chairperson and the audience to discuss the presentation in a way that is convenient for you.
- Chairperson’s Manual:
- The chairperson of the first half (Chair 1) will enter the breakout room of his/her assigned speaker when the break session starts.
- Please chair the presentation. Depending on the situation, you may freely discuss with the presenters and the audience as in a regular poster session, but in any case, please cooperate with the presenters so that the discussion will be active.
- The chairperson will be in charge for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes of the first half, the chairperson of the second half (Chair 2) will enter the breakout room of the presenter in charge.
- Please feel free to participate in the breakout session as an audience member outside of the chairperson’s assigned time.
- Audience Manual:
- When the start time arrives, enter the breakout room of the lecture you want to listen to.
- In each breakout room, please listen to the presentation and make discussions according to the progress of the chairperson.
